The official term for &#8220;the language of flowers&#8221; is<a href=\"https:\/\/designdash.com\/wellness\/mindset\/all-about-floriography-and-the-victorian-language-of-flowers\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">&nbsp;<strong>floriography<\/strong>.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/designdash.com\/wellness\/mindset\/all-about-floriography-and-the-victorian-language-of-flowers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Floriography <\/a><\/strong>is the practice of assigning symbolic meanings to flowers to convey messages and emotions without words. It was especially popular in the Victorian era, when people used flowers to express feelings that social norms discouraged them from saying aloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Book Behind the Book<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The inspiration for&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/40MaHf7\"><em>The Language of Flowers<\/em>&nbsp;<\/a><\/strong>stemmed from the author&#8217;s discovery of an 1800s edition of&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/40ChLcX\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Language of Flowers<\/em>&nbsp;by Kate Greenaway,<\/a><\/strong> which she found as a teenager in an old bookstore.
