✨Eshet Chayil(Woman of Valor) Holding this speci ✨Eshet Chayil(Woman of Valor) Holding this special mug my husband made for me—and all the moms of our congregation—as a reminder of who we are in the eyes of God. At the top, it reads “Eshet Chayil” — A Woman of Valor.

This beautiful Hebrew phrase comes from Proverbs 31, where a woman is praised not just for her outward beauty, but for her strength, wisdom, kindness, and reverence for the Lord. It’s a term of high honor in Jewish and biblical tradition, celebrating a woman who builds her home, serves others with joy, and walks faithfully with God.

The three flowers on the mug each carry meaning from the Land of Israel—a land God calls His own.

Here’s to all the eshet chayil /strong women walking in grace, strength, and purpose today.

We’ve been seeing these all over our area. The We’ve been seeing these all over our area.

These little guys build a communal silk tent each spring—usually in cherry, apple, and other hardwood trees. They crawl out during the day to munch on leaves, then return to their tent to rest and stay safe from predators and rain.

While they look dramatic, they usually don’t harm healthy trees. Their silk tents, made from caterpillar spit (yep, really!), are one of spring’s first signs of insect life. Keep an eye out—nature’s pretty wild!

They eventually turned into a brown moth. Nothing too dramatic eh?

Have you seen any of these caterpillars where you live?

Potting up my tomato seedlings into 4” trays—t Potting up my tomato seedlings into 4” trays—this will be their home until they head out to the garden! I’m dividing them gently since I multi-sowed some, giving each one room to grow strong.

When potting up, I like to switch from seed starting mix to potting soil. Seed starter is great for germination—light, fluffy, and lower in nutrients—but once seedlings develop true leaves, they need more support.

Potting soil is richer and more structured, giving roots something to hold onto and providing the nutrients they need to thrive.

I’m bring a little bit of Maine to my Virginia garden & trying @coastofmaineorganic Bar Harbor blend for the first time (kindly gifted to me) and it’s known for being well-balanced—moisture-retaining yet well-draining, which helps avoid root rot or hydrophobic soil.

I’ve heard great things from other organic gardeners & excited to see how it supports healthy growth in my garden.

If you’re just getting started, this is one of those gardening tips for beginners that makes all the difference when you’re hoping to grow your own food!
