Where to Find the Books:
- Your Local Library
I tried to choose titles that were easy to find at most libraries as they are a great option to get books for free! If your local library doesn’t have a book in stock, they may be able to request it from another branch or through interlibrary loan. - ThriftBooks: A large selection of used books at discounted prices, with free shipping on orders over a certain amount.
- AbeBooks: Offers a huge inventory of secondhand books, rare finds, and textbooks, often with
- Amazon: Amazon offers new and used copies of books, often at competitive prices. You can also find Kindle versions for an even more affordable option if you prefer reading digitally. I have made a full list of the books in my Amazon store here.
- Barnes & Noble
- Local Bookstores
How to Prepare for the Club:
- Start reading the first book in the list is for January. Try to read in chunks each week. I have created a reading schedule here so you don’t have to read all at once.
- Take notes as you read! Think about questions you have, what excites or inspires you, and how the book relates to your own gardening journey.
- Join the conversation Send me a voice message on my Instagram DM’s by Sunday of each week. I will try and share a few of the messages on my Instagram Stories on Tuesday evenings. I will save the IG Book Club stories to a highlight where you can go back and watch.
Tips for a Great Experience:
- Try reading the book in smaller chunks—this can help you absorb the material over a few days. Consider I’ve created a reading schedule here that might help you stay on track and pace yourself.
- Look for gardening-related themes in everyday life and share how the books are affecting your own gardening practices.
- Have fun! The Garden Book Club is all about learning, growing together, and building community!
- If you have questions you can either send me and email at hello@michellesgardengrows or reach out to me on Instagram DMs.
